Black Star captain, Asamoah Gyan has had mixed bag of a week with English club Reading claiming he had failed his medicals hence the club’s refusal to sign him.

The Baby Jet, keen to state his case opined Reading failed to sign him because they demanded he forgo participating in the impending Africa Cup of Nations tournament scheduled for Gabon but since he loved Ghana so much he declined leading to the bad mouthing on the club’s apart.

He stressed on twitter “Am proud of my Country, No one can stop me from serving my country.. Ghana made me who I am today”.

Subsequently he has signed for Al-Ahly of Dubai and is set to wear the number 90 jersey after completing the loan transfer move from Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG.

Gyan has been financially supporting folks and funding projects, one such initiative is the $200,000 Astro turf he is building for his former school, Accra Academy.

Gyan exited the Senior High School in 2002 but then resident school coach J.E Sarpong (whose gone on to become a noted coach in the local league) molded him in the art of football.

Accra Aca’s Astro turf constructed by Turksih firm Hatko is expected to be handed over to school authorities in September.
