Hasaacas Ladies succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria’s Rivers Angels FC in their WAFU Zone B Women’s Club Championship opener.

A goal conceded at either side of both halves meant Hasmal has to beat Niger’s AS Police de Niamey in the next outing to ensure any chance of qualification to the next stage of the competition.

Hasmal started on a good note and created two strong opportunities but failed to find the back of the net; Doris Boaduwaa’s close range effort went off target and Milot Pokuaa misfired before the Nigerians shot ahead.

Jafaru Rahma played Doris Boaduwaa through in the 2nd minute who went against the goalkeeper but could not find the back on the net.

Doris Boaduwaa again finds the side of the net six minutes after our chance following a good pass from Milot Pokuaa.

The Nigerians were clinical enough and saw their only ball on target into the net through Abiodun Deborah in the 17 minutes.

Hasaacas Ladies despite conceding took control of the game in the first half with threats from Milot Pokuaa and Doreen Copson, but 1:0 was what ended the first half.

Rivers Angles scored an early goal in the second half through Evenagu Maryann who went round Grace Banwah to slot in.

Milot Pokuaa was unlikely not to score in the 70th minute to find her well-struck shot hitting the woodwork. 2:0 the game ended.

Hasmal will engage AS Police de Niamey on Thursday, July 29, 2021 hoping to secure a win that will aid them to book a semifinal place.
