Hearts of Oak dominate Black Stars call up for World Cup 2022 qualifiers

Head coach of the Black Stars, Charles Kwablan Akonnor has handed call ups to 30 players for the World Cup assignments.

The list is dominated by players from Accra Hearts of Oak with the Ghana Premier League champions having two players from the tall list of players.

Two players from Hearts of Oak namely Richard Attah and Daniel Afriyie has been invited to join the senior national team for the qualifiers.

The Phobians are the only team with more than a player on the list.

Ghana will begin her FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa in September.

Ghana are scheduled to host Group G opponents Ethiopia on Friday, September 3 in Cape Coast, before playing South Africa on Monday, September 6, 2021 in Johannesburg respectively.

Full Squad:

Goalkeepers: Richard Ofori, Lawrence Ati Zigi, Manaf Nurudeenm Richard Attah

Defenders: Benson Anangm Yiadom Andrew, Baba Abdul Rahman Gideon Mensah, Baffour Philmon, Alexander Djiku, Daniel Amartey, Ismael Ganiyu, Jonathan Mensah.

Midfielders: Mubarak Wakaso, Iddrisu Baba, Thomas Partey, Emmanuel Lomotey

Wingers: Joel Fameye, Samuel Owusu, Gyasi Emmanuel, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Tariq Fosu, Isahaku Fatawu

Attacking Midfielders: Afriyie Barnieh, Kudus Mohammed, Majeed Ashimeru

Strikers: Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Kwame Opoku, Kelvin Yeboah.
