Jose Mourinho is reportedly set to be named Real Madrid boss until the end of the season, following this weekend's game against Real Valladolid.

Under-fire manager Santiago Solari looks set to be in the dugout for the La Liga clash, but will be then be replaced Mourinho for the remainder of the campaign, report Goal.

Solari oversaw arguably the worst week in Real history as they surrendered any hopes of silverware this season in the space of eight days.

Los Blancos were beaten by Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final before a second successive El Clasico defeat left them 12 points off their rivals in the title race.

And their misery was compounded with a 4-1 humiliation by Ajax in the Bernabeu which sent them crashing out of the Champions League as they bid for a fourth successive crown.

Mourinho himself has a tumultuous few months, being sacked by Manchester United in December.

The Portuguese oversaw United's worst start to a Premier League season in history and had a very public fall-out with Paul Pogba.

He was succeeded by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is yet to lose a game domestically and saw his side produce one of the great Champions League comebacks to dump out Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

Mourinho managed Real between 2010 and 2013, winning one league title and one Copa del Rey.
