Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary has clinched third place at the 2018 Sprite Ball Championship following a 21-12 win over Sacred Heart Technical Institute.

Despite missing the final game losing 20-26 to Mfantsipim School after leading the game for long stretches, Sacred Heart fought gallantly but run out of energy in the final quarter to fall by nine points.

Pope John's bronze medal is Coach James Okine's second bronze medal in the past three editions of the celebrated competition.

Okine was a tad dissapointed with his team's semifinal loss where main orchestrator Sanisa Merdi was clamped down by Presbyterian Senior High School (Osu PRESEC) but was gracious with a second bronze medal.

Merdi is one of the candidates for the Most Valuable player of the competition after starring in the year's edition of Ghana's biggest high school basketball competition.
