Remain calm, positive about Black Stars - Chris Hughton to Ghanaians

Black Stars technical advisor Chris Hughton is urging Ghanaians to get behind the team ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.

In a speech, the former Brighton and Albion manager said the Black Stars are ready for their rivals Nigeria. According to him, Ghana have the quality and desire to overcome Nigeria in the two games.

“I will like to urge Ghanaians to remain calm and positive about the team because we strongly believe we have the quality, desire and hunger to achieve the results that we want, it is our aim to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar and we all have a duty to make that dream a reality,” Chris Hughton said.

“Ghana has done it before and we can guarantee you that every Ghanaian wants to see the team in Qatar and we are committed to that. We are Ghana and we are ready.”

In a related development, Black Stars coach Otto Addo says his team will come out with flying colors when they play Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The coach believes beating Nigeria to book a spot at the next FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar is not beyond Ghana.

The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 1st leg of the play off at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday, March 25, while the 2nd leg is scheduled for the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

The Winner of the two legs will progress to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.

Ghana are seeking to return to the Mundial for the fourth time having missed out in the last edition hosted in Russia.
