The Black Stars of Ghana will go into a crucial World Cup qualifier match against the Pharoahs of Egypt tonight with hopes of getting a win in order to keep their Russia 2018 hopes alive.

After an abysmal performance in the first Group E game in Tamale which saw the Black Stars managing a goalless draw with Uganda, the Stars must win tonight’s game at Alexandria to keep their campaign in progress.

They cannot afford to repeat the performance they displayed with Uganda as they now come against a team who has a lot at stake with regards to the game.

A win for Egypt would take them further on top of the Group with six points and also ensure that they seek revenge over the Black Stars who defeated them 6-1 in 2014.

Avram Grant has set up a very vibrant line-up against Egypt which many has described as the most formidable side ever to start a game for the Stars in recent time.

In midfield especially, Mubarak Wakaso and Agyemang Badu presents a very solid pair and would receive support from Thomas Partey with Christian Atsu also playing from the flanks.

The Ayew brothers would be playing upfront with Dede Ayew expected to fall back to help in midfield while Jordan would receive adequate supply from Wakaso and Atsu to get the goals for the Stars.

At defense, Jonathan Mensah and Daniel Amartey would also combine effectively at the back while Baba Rahman and Afful are also expected to hold Mohammed Salah and other Egyptian attackers in check.

It promises to be a tough game but the Stars must shine tonight to give Ghanaians something to cheer about as they are gradually getting back to support the Stars after the Brazil fall-out.
