The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially released the final 24-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Head coach Desmond Ofei will lead the Black Satellites as they begin their Group C campaign against DR Congo at the Suez Stadium on Friday, May 2, 2025, with kickoff scheduled for 18:00 GMT.
Among the notable selections are FC Barcelona youngster Abdul Aziz Issah and CD Lugo’s Jerry Afriyie.
Rising star Andrew Adjabeng of Real Sociedad also made the cut, alongside Joseph Opoku, Clinton Duodu, and Lord Afrifa.
The team has been based in Egypt for pre-tournament preparations, adjusting to local conditions ahead of their opening match.
The tournament format will see the top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed sides, advance to the quarterfinals.
The four teams that reach the semifinals will secure qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile later this year.
Ghana earned their place at the tournament after finishing second to Nigeria in the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship.
The Black Satellites now aim to make a strong statement in Egypt.
