Lawyer and Communication strategist, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko believes the Black Stars can make it to the next football Mundial in Qatar.

According to him, the team is on good sharpen to qualify for the  FIFA World Cup 2022 to be staged in Qatar.

Despite Ghanaians calling for the head of CK Akonnor following his outfit's poor performance in the recent games, Otchere-Darko has thrown his weight behind the former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko coach.

Calls for Akonnor to be thrown under the bus grew louder after Ghana lost to South Africa in 1-0 in Johannesburg on Monday in the World Cup 2022 qualifiers, but Gabby Otchere Darko insisted Ghanaians should quench the sack CK Akonnor fire.

He is of the view that although the Black Stars suffered defeat to South Africa for the first time since 2000 in a competitive game, it's not a big deal.

"I don’t see the panic for the Black Stars. Losing to South Africa in SA with a return match in hand is by no means a disaster. We are in good shape with our 2022 destiny pretty firmly in our own hands. Let’s back CK & our men on the field & charge them to work for team & country," he said.

Under CK Akonnor's guidance, Ghana has scored just 1 goal in its last 4 matches and 5 shots on target in last 4 games.

The Black Stars will next play Zimbabwe in back-to-back games in October 2021.

The Black Stars are chasing a return to the World Cup after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia.

It will be their fourth appearance at the global showpiece should they qualify for Qatar 2022.
