The Black Stars have left the shores of Ghana for Johannesburg to face South Africa in matchday two of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

The Black Stars will play the Bafana Bafana on Monday, September 6, 2021. The team is expected  will train at FNB Stadium on Sunday.

Akonnor is likely to change his starting lineup from the one that faced Ethiopia since players from England and Germany were unable to go to South Africa.

This is because the country is one of the red list countries with the highest number of Covid-19 cases.

As a result, defenders Daniel Amartey, Abdul Baba Rahman, Andy Yiadom, attacker Jordan Ayew, and Jeffrey Schlupp did not travel with the rest of the squad.

The Black Stars are chasing a return to the World Cup after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia.

It will be their fourth appearance at the global showpiece should they qualify for Qatar 2022.
