The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed the Headmaster of Dzozde-Penyi Senior High School in the Volta Region, Mr. Joshua Vidzro, to step aside from his duties with immediate effect following allegations of sexual misconduct involving some female students of the school.
The directive, signed by the Volta Regional Education Directorate and dated December 6, 2025, states that the temporary removal of the headmaster is necessary to allow for “urgent investigation” into the allegations and to “guarantee the integrity of the investigative process.”
According to the letter, Mr. Vidzro is required to hand over all official duties, responsibilities, records, and school property to the Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North. He has also been instructed to vacate the school premises by Monday, December 8, 2025, after the handover process.
The GES emphasised that the directive does not amount to a determination of guilt but is an administrative measure aimed at ensuring due process while investigations proceed. Mr. Vidzro is also expected to remain available to assist investigators and avoid any direct or indirect contact with students linked to the case, as well as potential witnesses.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North has been tasked with overseeing the administration and management of the school until further notice.
