Assemblyman for Ada East Thomas Kate says he was beaten by the Invincible forces who showed up during an election in the area to confirm the appointment of the DCE nominee Sarah Dugbakie Pobee.

Thomas Kate said he and some of his colleague Assembly members were beaten by the Invincible Forces which forced them to run away from the election venue.

The pro-NPP group allegedly snatched ballot boxes and molested assembly members in the presence of armed police personnel which eventually marred the election.

Ms. Pobee who failed to secure two-thirds of the votes in two previous elections was hoping to get the majority votes to assume post. Although the process was marred by the Invincible Forces, she managed to poll 27 votes, representing 77 percent to see her through.

In a radio interview, Thomas Kate said the election cannot be considered credible because some Assembly members were forced to vote for the nominee.

According to reports, ahead of the election, Assembly members were threatened by the Invincible Forces to make sure they confirm the appointment of the DCE.
