Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced a temporary shutdown of its Kpong Treatment Plant on Friday, July 4, to allow for emergency repair works.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the utility company said water supply will be disrupted from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., affecting communities in the north-eastern parts of Accra, including Dodowa, Oyarifa, Madina, Adenta, Ashaley Botwe, East Legon, Abokobi, Haatso, Agbogba, and Ashongman.

GWL has advised residents in the affected areas to store enough water ahead of the planned maintenance and assured the public that supply will be restored immediately after repairs are completed.

“The inconvenience this may cause is deeply regretted,” the statement read, adding that the works are critical to improving service reliability.

Essential service providers have been asked to reach GWL via its toll-free line (0800 40000 for Vodafone users), regular numbers (0302 2218240 / 0207385089 / 0207385090), or WhatsApp (0555123393 / 0555155524) in case of emergencies.
