Voting is underway in the flagbearer race of the National Democratic Congress(NDC).
Over 280,000 delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are expected to cast their vote today at various centres across the country.
Seven aspirants are contesting for the flagbearer position.
There are former President John Dramani Mahama, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin; former Vice Chancellor of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi; former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mr. Sylvester Mensah.
The rest are former Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah; businessman, Alhaji Nurideen Iddrisu, and a cadre, Mr. Goosie Tanoh.
Many have tipped former President John Mahama to win the race and lead the party into the 20202 elections.
Joshua Alabi who is one of the aspirants was alleging some irregularities ahead of primaries but said he will not pull out of the race.
Alban Bagbin also had a similar concern but disclosed that for the sake of the part they will abide by the rules and regulations of the election but use the appropriate quarters to lodge complaints after the activity.
All the seven aspirants are very confident of leading winning and leading the party into the 2020 elections to wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
