The National Democratic Party (NDP) has filed a suit at the High Court over the disqualification of their presidential aspirant, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings.

The party is seeking an interlocutory injunction on the Electoral Commission and its agents from erecting candidates on the ballot electorates will cast their votes for on December 7.

Lawyers for the party are also praying the court to inhibit the posting of notices at polling centres till their candidate is represented on the roll.

The NDP’s move follows that of another disqualified presidential aspirant, Dr. Ndoum running of the ticket to the Progressive People’s Party who also reckons he was unfairly treated by the commission over a clerical error.

Fears have been raised that such suits could derail the December 7 timetable set for the elections.
