Ghana's Black Stars has slipped four places in the latest FIFA rankings following their winless campaign in the recently concluded AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
The four-time African champions, previously ranked 73rd in October, now sit in 77th place in November’s rankings.
This marks a continued decline, as the team also dropped six places in September after a home loss to Angola and a draw with Niger in Morocco. October brought further setbacks with a goalless draw against Sudan in Accra and a 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture.
Ghana finished the AFCON qualifiers without a single win, recording three draws and three losses in their six matches. For the first time in 20 years, the Black Stars have failed to qualify for the prestigious tournament.
Despite these poor performances and the drop in rankings, the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Executive Council is reportedly set to retain Otto Addo as the team’s head coach.
However, the Black Stars are scheduled to return to action in March 2025 as they face Chad and Madagascar in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
