Asante Kotoko coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor has confirmed that newly signed Ivorian striker Teguy Dany Zabo is not fit to play a part in the team's clash against Zesco United as he needs time to adapt to his system.

The Porcupine Warriors face Zesco United in the match-day two of the 2018-19 Total CAF Confederation's Cup at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday, February 13 at 4:00 PM local time as Akonnor's men look to build on positive performance against Al Hilal despite losing 1-0 in Sudan over the weekend.

And CK Akonnor has provided the latest team update news on Zabo ahead of the game on Wednesday.

However, he said Zabo is set to miss the game again against Zesco United but he will have a chance in subsequent games.

"I don't think our new foreign striker, Teguy Dany Zabo will get a chance to play on Wednesday. For now, he needs to understand our style of play and everything before-CK Akonnor", he told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

The 27-year-old attacker signed a three-year deal with the Kumasi-based club after passing a mandatory medical last week.

The Ivorian joined Asante Kotoko on a free transfer after ending his stay with Swaziland club Manzini FC.

Akonnor also touched-base on the expectation from his boys on Wednesday's do-or-die encounter.

"We have to win the game against Zesco United FC on Wednesday. Am not putting any pressure on my players but we need the three maximum points.-CK Akonnor", he stated.
