Arsenal have suffered a huge blow with news they will be without key midfielder Thomas Partey against Manchester City.

The Ghanaian has been a crucial part of the Gunners side that has sat top of the Premier League table for much of the season.

He has featured in all but three of their league games this term, but Mikel Arteta will have to make do without him on Wednesday night.

As reported by The Athletic, Partey is out of the City clash due to a muscular injury.

The 29-year-old trained with his teammates on Tuesday, but a fresh setback means he will not be in action at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

He could also miss their next game against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Such news could mean Jorginho makes his first start for the club since his transfer from Chelsea in January.

Partey’s absence could prove to be a big blow for the Gunners, especially when so much is at stake.

Although they have played one game more, City would go overtake Arsenal with a win due to their superior goal difference.
