The Ministry of Youth and Sports has said it has not approved a deal for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to pay $45,000 Milovan Rajevac, who has been tipped as the most likely replacement for C.K. Akonnor.

In a press statement dated Thursday, September 23, 2021, the Ministry explained that although it is aware of GFA’s ongoing process to engage a new coach for the Black Stars, it has not been notified formally.

“We wish, therefore, to state categorically that the publications that the Ministry has agreed to pay $45,000 for the Coach of Black Stars are untrue and of no basis,” portions of the statement said.

Reports say Milovan Rajevac has already arrived in Ghana to start his second stint as Black Stars coach.

The Serbian has been in Ghana since Monday, the reports say.
