The presidential convoy is reported to have been involved in an accident on a return trip from Kumasi to Accra.
One of the drivers is said to have died in the incident. Several others have sustained severe injuries.
However, President Akufo-Addo is said to have arrived safely in Accra by air.
The accident is said to have occurred around the Bunso junction in the Eastern Region.
Reports say the convoy crashed into a KIA Rhino truck.
