Usain Bolt has six gold medals to back up his title as the world's fastest man.

But would you be surprised to learn that the world-class sprinter has never ran any distance out of his comfort zone?

"Usain has never run a mile," his agent, Ricky Simms, told The New Yorker.

The shocking admission came as part of the article's premise of "How Fast Would Usain Bolt Run the Mile?"

Robert Johnson, LetsRun.com co-founder, doubts that Bolt would even be able to break five minutes in the mile.

"If that was the over/under, I'd mortgage my nonexistent house to try to bet up to six figures he was over that," Johnson said. "He's a total fast-twitch-muscle-fiber guy. To expect Bolt to be good at the mile simply because he is the world's greatest sprinter would be like expecting a great  320-pound NFL offensive lineman to be good at playing running back simply because he's a great football player. It's ludicrous."

While it might be shocking that Bolt has never run a mile, consider this — he has gotten to be the best by sprinting, so there isn't a reason to get out of his wheelhouse because Usain has been nearly untouchable in the 100 and 200-meter events.

Untouchable ... unless Justin Gatlin has anything to say about it during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
