Former Brighton manager Chris Hughton in Ghana for Black Stars job

Former Brighton and Albion coach Chris Hughton has landed in Ghana for the vacant Black Stars coaching job.

According to reports, the 63-year-old and his representatives have met some top officials of the ruling government in Accra over the possibility of getting the Black Stars coaching job.

The Ghana Football Association sacked Milovan Rajevac earlier this week, following a dismal performance at the Africa Cup of Nations. Ghana finished bottom of Group C, with their solitary point coming in a draw with Gabon.

'Second coming curse strikes Milovan Rajevac' by Vincent Ashitey

On January 26, 2022, the Ghana Football Association officially delivered the news to Milovan Rajevac: his tenure as the Black Stars coach is over — after only four months.

Milovan himself knew that his sacking was inevitable after his poor performance at AFCON 2021.

Despite the tough talk — after the Black Stars' defeat to Comoros — that he will not resign and will lead the struggling national team to play the World Cup playoffs, it was easy to see through the smokescreen toughness that was never going to happen.

Australian Open: Rafael Nadal overcomes Matteo Berrettini test to reach final

Rafael Nadal overcame a stern test from Matteo Berrettini to reach his sixth Australian Open final in Melbourne.

The 35-year-old remains on track to win a record 21st Grand Slam title in Melbourne and his first Australian Open title since 2009.

Berrettini made the world No 5 work for his victory by taking the third set and holding much of the momentum in the fourth. However, a key Nadal break at 4-3 helped the Spaniard claim a 3-6 2-6 6-3 3-6 victory.

Australian Open: Ashleigh Barty to meet Danielle Collins in Melbourne final

Ashleigh Barty became the first home player to reach the Australian Open women's singles final in 42 years as she beat Madison Keys in straight sets on a jubilant Rod Laver Arena.

Wimbledon champion Barty, 25, won 6-1 6-3 against the unseeded American.

Now the top seed is one win away from becoming the first Australian - man or woman - to win the singles since Christine O'Neil won the title in 1978.

Barty will face American 27th seed Danielle Collins in Saturday's final.
