Sulley Muntari opens up on decision to join Hearts of Oak

Sulley Ali Muntari has revealed the reason behind his decision to join Hearts of Oak.

According to the former AC and Inter Milan midfielder, he joined the Phobians at the request of his son Jamal Krasie Muntari. 

The UEFA Champions League winner who signed a one-year deal with the Ghana Premier League champions on Tuesday, February 1 will be returning to competitive football since he left lower-tier side Albacete Balompié.

Hearts of Oak strike partnership deal with Kangen Water

Hearts of Oak have announced a commercial partnership agreement with Kangen Water Ghana Limited.

The deal, which is worth GHC255,000 per year, is valid for the next three years.

Athletic Bilbao crash Real Madrid out of Copa del Rey

Athletic Bilbao sent Real Madrid crashing out of the Copa del Rey thanks to a stunning last-minute strike by substitute Álex Berenguer at San Mamés.

Berenguer’s goal in the 89th minute secured a surprise 1-0 victory in the quarter-finals, as Marcelino’s side followed up their last-16 win over Barcelona with another unexpected result. It was a deserved breakthrough for the hosts, who had been the stronger side for much of the contest, and made up for defeats to Real in the Spanish Super Cup final and two recent La Liga matches. 

Real Madrid struggled to create chances without the injured Karim Benzema. The Brazilian trio of Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo and Casemiro played on their return from international duty but looked off the pace. Vinícius was substituted early in the second half, before Casemiro’s misplaced pass allowed Berenguer the chance to score.

NBA roundup: Atlanta Hawks end Phoenix Suns' streak while Los Angeles Lakers beaten

Trae Young scored 43 points as the Atlanta Hawks ended the Phoenix Suns' 11-game winning run with a 124-111 win.

The 23-year-old made 16 of his 25 shots on the night to push his side to an eighth win in nine outings.

The Suns lead the Western Conference but the Golden State Warriors are just a win off the top after beating the Sacramento Kings 126-114.

AFCON 2021: Egypt coach wants final against Senegal moved

Egypt assistant boss Diaa al-Sayed wants their AFCON 2021 final against Senegal to be played on Monday instead of Sunday so they can have an extra day of rest.

The Pharaohs beat hosts Cameroon on Thursday on penalties, their third shootout win in a row.

Senegal, who have won all their games in 90 minutes, beat Burkina Faso 3-1 on Wednesday.
