Mobile Money vendor shot dead at Asylum Down

A Mobile Money vendor at Asylum Down has been shot to death by unknown gunmen.

The vendor whose station is located opposite Iran Clinic, adjacent Prime News Ghana office died on the spot on Monday evening, August 20, 2018.

Eyewitnesses say two men on a motorbike approached the vendor and shot him as they made away with his sales on the day.

"I was around the filling station when I heard a gunshot. I quickly rushed to the scene only to hear that he was shot after struggling with them (the two gunmen on the motorbike) over his money. They shot him in the chest,” the eyewitness narrated.

Mobile Money robbery has been rampant for some time now in Ghana.

The police have previously warned vendors to not stay out late doing business as that may be risky.
