Ghana’s fast-rising media house, OMY TV has secured the right, to broadcast live, Richard Commey's vacant IBF lightweight world title fight against Russian opponent, Isa Chaniev on Saturday, February 2, at the Ford Centre, Star in Frisco, Texas.

Ghanaians will have the opportunity of seeing their high rated Richard Commey meeting Isa Chaniev for the vacant IBF lightweight title in the United States of America, precisely Texas at 12:00 AM Saturday, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

OMY TV already operates on satellite, terrestrial and digital platforms.

Joyce Aku Mensah, General Manager of OMY TV speaking to PrimeNewsGhana.com assured viewers of an uninterrupted broadcast of the bout coupled with a high-level pre and post-fight analysis of the bout.

Commey is now just a day, and perhaps 12 rounds away from becoming a National Icon. On February 2, 2019, Commey will take on Russian Isa Chaniev for the IBF World Lightweight title in far away Texas, USA, in what will be his second shot at the world title.

Commey would relish starting 2019 in blistering fashion as it ended on a sad note when the Isaac 'Royal Storm' Dogboe lost his World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Super Bantamweight title in a devastating manner against Emanuel Naverette back in December last year.

For the 31-year-old orthodox boxer, this bout could prove very crucial to his career in boxing, which started on a good note after recording 24-0 wins with 22 coming by way of knockouts, but his loss against Robert Easter Jr. for the vacant IBF lightweight in 2016 was a huge setback.

The winner of Saturday's bout between Commey and Chaniev is likely to face WBO titleholder and top pound-for-pound contender Vasiliy Lomachenko in April.
