President John Dramani Mahama, has congratulated the Black Stars for qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the achievement as another proud moment for Ghana.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Mr. Mahama wrote:
“Congratulations to the senior national team, the #BlackStars. Another qualification to the World Cup. #ResettingGhana.”
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, assured of improved cordial diplomatic relations with the US, Canada and Mexico to guarantee appreciable visa quotas.
In a post on his X page, Mr Ablakwa said, “Ghanaians can be fully assured that the Foreign Ministry under my leadership shall leverage our improved cordial diplomatic relations with the United States, Canada and Mexico to guarantee appreciable visa quotas for our globally acclaimed football fans. GHANA, here we come!”
The Black Stars booked qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, October 12, 2025 following a 1-0 win over Comoros.
Ghana who topped who Group I with 25 points from 10 qualifying games, picked 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw.
The Black Stars will be making its fifth appearance at the Mundial, scheduled for Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America in June 2026.
