Asante Kotoko midfielder Richard Senanu has revealed that the severity of his injury suffered in last Wednesday's encounter takes him out of the Reds journey to Zambia to face Nkana FC.

 The news comes as a blow to coach C.K. Akonnor due to Senanu's exceptional display in the heart of midfield for the Reds.

The stalwart midfielder suffered a knock in matchday two of the CAF Confederation Cup tie against Zambian giants Zesco United and was replaced by Habib Mohammed.

The 24-year old who has featured in all of the 6 games for the Porcupines in the Africa Campaign disclosed to Oyerepa FM that he will be out of the trip to Zambia due to his injury.

"Currently, I am at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital receiving treatment following the injury I picked up on Wednesday," Senanu told Oyerepa FM

"I'm still receiving treatment and I won't be part of the team to travel to Zambia [to face Nkana FC]."

"For now, I can't make the trip due to injury."

The former Phar Rangers player has formed a formidable midfield partnership with Kwame Bonsu for the Porcupines.

Asante Kotoko travels to face Nkana FC of Zambia in the matchday three of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, February 24 at 1:00 pm.
