Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has ordered the immediate suspension of the Principal of the Nurses and Midwifery Training College at Nalerugu following reports of unauthorized admissions.
The directive was issued during the Minister’s working visit to the Upper East, North-East, and Northern Regions, where he toured health facilities and training institutions to assess operations and service delivery.
After being briefed on irregularities in the college’s admissions process, Minister Akandoh visited the school and, based on preliminary findings, directed the suspension of the college head pending further investigations.
He stressed that adherence to established admission protocols is non-negotiable and warned that any head of institution found engaging in unauthorized practices would face strict sanctions.
The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and maintaining high standards in health training institutions nationwide.
