AFC Wimbledon forward Kwesi Appiah has revealed that his exploits in the English Football League One warranted his call up to the Black Stars set up.

The 6 capped Ghanaian who has scored a single goal has been away from the National team since 2015.

Appiah has scored four goals in 24 games in the English Football League One and according to him, Ghanaians should expect fireworks from his comeback ahead of AFCON 2019 in Egypt

“I deserve this opportunity. They [Ghanaians] should expect to see hunger and passion to do well for the team and country,” Appiah told AshesGyamera.com

“This is a great opportunity which I have been working towards for some time now. So I will show my worth to the team and hopefully build towards another AFCON tournament.”

“My injuries are healed and I am training. I’m currently fit for the task ahead,” he concluded.

Ghana will lock horns with Kenya in their final AFCON 2019 Group F game at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 23.

The winner of the match decides who tops Group F with Kenya leading the park with 7 points while the Black Stars follow with 6 points.

Kenya registered a 1-0 win over the Black Stars at the Moi International Sports Centre in the first leg of the AFCON qualification.
