Minister of youth and sports Isaac Asiamah has paid a working visit to the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex in Kaneshie and is clearly unhappy with the current state of the facility.

The multi-sports complex also known as the Kaneshie sports complex has been in a deplorable state for some time now and the sports minister believes it should be upgraded.

“ From what I have seen I think Azumah Nelson deserves better because, this is an edifice named after somebody who has done so much for Ghana sports, you come here and everything is deteriorated, I don’t think is the best so we need to provide decent facilities here”

The stadium was originally built during the era of the Supreme Military Council under General Acheampong in the 1970s.The facility was renovated in 2007.
