A Getaneh Kebede strike in the second half salvaged a point for Walias of Ethiopia against Black Stars at the Orlando Stadium in South Africa.

The striker's 72th-minute strike cancelled out Andre Ayew's opener for the Black Stars in matchday 5 of the FIFA World Cup qualifying match, as the two teams played 1-1.

The captain of the Black Stars Andre Ayew who had returned to the lineup after being benched in the matchday 4 game against Zimbabwe shot Ghana into the lead with a well taken free kick on the 22nd-minute mark

Kamaldeen Suleman needly doubled the four-time AFCON champions tally after ghosting past his markers in the box but he shot wide.

Ethiopia after conceding never sat back, they grew into the game and threaten the Black Stars on few occasions with goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott being called into action.

The Wailas' only problem in the first half was failing to score as they were rather the better side after going down by Andre Ayew's strike.

The opening 45 minutes ended 1-0 in favour of Ghana.

Ethiopia started the second half from where they left off and this time around they where clinical when the chance presented itself.

They made Ghana pay for being lacklustre in the second half. They breached the Black Stars defence in the 72nd minute and captain of the side Getaneh Kebede put the ball beyond the reach of Jojo Wollacott to draw level.

With both teams failing to score again and 90 minutes of regulation time reached, the referee brought proceedings to an end.

The draw means Ghana have moved level with leaders South Africa 10 points.  South Africa play Zimbabaew tonight at 7:00pm at the FNB Stadium.
