Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has asked party faithfuls to retain executives whose efforts ensured victory for the party in the 2016 elections.

Sydney’s apology won’t save him from being dragged to Parliament

Member of Parliament of Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak, says the unqualified apology rendered by Sydney Casely-Hayford to Parliament over his derogatory comment will not prevent him from being dragged before the house. 
 
Sydney Casely-Hayford a member of pressure group OccupyGhana reportedly said at a summit that Ghana would have been better off without Parliament and if given the chance he will “break down” the law-making house and turn it into a tourist site adding the lawmakers in Ghana make “stupid decisions.”
 

Mr. Casely-Hayford after the comment has apologized in several radio interviews describing his own comments as “harsh” and “over the top.” He said he will officially write an apology letter to parliament.

Reacting to the apology Ras Mubarak wondered why Mr. Casely-Hayford retracted the said comments only after he(Mubarak) had petitioned Parliament – a week after they had been uttered.
 
He noted the power lies on Parliament to determine what sanctions, hence his apology would not preclude an invitation to the chamber.
