Former Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has strongly criticised the GH₵50 million bail imposed on Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, describing it as a calculated move to delay his release.
Speaking to the media after a high-level meeting at the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) headquarters on Friday, Dr. Bawumia expressed frustration over what he called “politically motivated obstruction of justice.”
“The GH₵50 million bail condition is excessive. I don’t know how many people in Ghana can provide surety worth that amount. It was clearly set to frustrate his release,” he said.
