About eight people have been reported dead after religious violence in northwestern Nigeria.

According to reports, the violence was after an unnamed student of the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic in Talata Mafara in the Zamfara State was beaten to a pulp for making a blasphemous comment about Prophet Muhammad.

The home of a man only identified named Tajudeen who rescued and helped to take the student to the hospital was razed by angry Muslims, killing 8 people.
