The airline, which is the latest to join the domestic aviation space will now expand its routes with the new aircraft.

The new aircraft comes three months into the start of operations by Passion Air.

The aircraft also heralds the new Accra – Tamale route of the airline and is expected to begin using the Takoradi route before the end of November this year, 2018.

Already, the coming on board of the new company has led to competitive pricing which has been to the advantage of passengers.

John Attafuah, the Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company Limited, explained the pricing of air tickets has become competitive since the joining of Passion Air to Ghana’s domestic Aviation Space.

“Passion Air has delivered good services since it began operation, and I encourage it to continue doing so because there are other airlines wanting to enter into the domestic space and if they fall on their services passengers will turn elsewhere”.

“The entry of Passion Air has also led to a significant drop in airfares resulting in an increase in traffic from 14,000 to about 22,000 passengers, on the Accra Kumasi route,” he said.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Commercial Manager of Passion Air, Anita Khory stated “The acceptance of our second aircraft the Q400 by the travelling public has been overwhelming and has encouraged us to bring in our third aircraft to further expand our domestic operations to Takoradi with twice daily frequency. This we plan to do towards the end of November”

The aircraft; Bombardier 9GMRH, is a 78 seater capacity jet.
