The Minister of Labour Relations is scheduled to meet the Public Services Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress and Ghana Meteorological Division today over a strike by the Meteo staff.

Staff of the Meteorological Service began industrial action on Friday, February 18 to demand better conditions of service.

They however suspended the strike after a meeting with their management and the Ministry of Communications.

To fully address all concerns raised, the union would continue negotiations with the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations.

The Chairman of the Divisional Union, Papa Nii Clegg, told Citi News their conditions of service are not the best, hence their call for improvement.

“The itemized demands should be addressed especially the interim arrangements. Our conditions of service are too bad so at the negotiation table, our expectation will be that the items that are mentioned 6should change. Something drastic should be done,” he said.
