The CEO of EIB Network, Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray, has been appointed as a “Made in Ghana†(MIG) Ambassador.
His ambassadorial role will require him to support a campaign to change the negative perception of ‘Made in Ghana’ goods and services to increase demand for such goods and services.
Others supporting the behavioral change campaign include, Morning Show host of Anopa Kasapa Fiifi Banson, Citi FM’s Bernard Avle, MD for the Graphic Communications Group, Ken Ashiegbe and MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kufuor (Obuor) and gospel musician Emelia Arthur.
The campaign is aimed at increasing the production and consumption of MIG goods and services. This will result in an expansion of local businesses and reduce the country's high import bill.
The value of the Ghana Cedi is also expected to be of high value among its trading partners - Dollar, Euro and Pound Sterling.
To ensure that products are of good quality, the Ghana Standard Authority (GSA) and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) have come up with standards for all product categories to meet before an MIG standards of premium quality logo is embossed on them.
In all 23 priority products from different sectors have been chosen. They include poultry, Textiles and Garments, Cement, Furniture, Pharmaceutical, Rice, and Cosmetics.
