Chamber of Women in Agribusiness launches Miss Agric 2021

An association that seeks to empower women in agriculture, the Chamber of Women in Agribusiness Ghana, has launched this year’s edition of the Miss Agriculture Ghana Pageant.

The Miss Agriculture pageant is an annual event that seeks to encourage and support young women in agriculture and to showcase their agric innovations.

Speaking to the media after the launch of the 2021 Miss Agriculture Pageant was announced, Founder of the Chamber of Women in Agribusiness Ghana, Ama Bonsu, said, as organisers, they are looking forward to top-notch performances by the contestants who will qualify.

“We want to change the narrative of agriculture in the country,” she explained the pageant's main objective.

She said applications for this year’s pageant have opened for interested ladies to put in their bid.

“Interested persons wanting to participate must be a young Lady between ages 18 to 30 should have passion for Agribusiness, have any project along the agriculture value chain that can create more jobs for other young women,” she said.

Giving details about how prospective contestants could apply, she said applicants must send a one-minute entry video via WhatsApp numbers 0240-042-313 or 0541-956-735, post on all their social Media Handles and tag #missagricultureghana2021.

She said only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Miss Agriculture Ghana: Beauty with a purpose, the female agriculturist’.

The winner of this year’s pageants takes home a cash prize of GH¢5,000 and would represent her brand at the National Farmers Day celebration.
