The Ghana-China Business Summit, held under the theme “Enhancing Security and Infrastructure for Investment: Opportunities for Ghana-China Collaboration,” in Accra, brought together captains of industry, government officials, and Chinese state-owned enterprises to explore areas of mutual benefit.
The Deputy Minister for the Interior, Ebenezer Terlabi, highlighted the importance of security and infrastructure in facilitating investment and economic growth, stating that Ghana’s 24-hour economy policy presents opportunities for Chinese investors in security infrastructure projects, surveillance and digital systems, cybersecurity, and digital forensics.
He called for collaboration in Security infrastructure development, Surveillance and digital systems, Cybersecurity and digital forensics.
The Deputy Minister highlighted the strong foundation of Ghana-China cooperation in law enforcement, including training programmes for Ghanaian police officers in China and donations of police vehicles and equipment.
He noted that prospects between Ghana and China could be the establishment of Ghana-China Police Training Academy, localised assembly of policing technology, Ghana-China Innovation Hub for Security Technology and enhancing private sector involvement in infrastructure and logistics.
The Deputy Minister invited Chinese partners to invest in Ghana’s security and infrastructure sectors, leveraging over seven decades of friendship between Ghana and China for shared success.
