Govt's Nation Builders Corps to employ 100,000 youths

Government has disclosed that it will be launching a massive youth employment programme in 2018 known as the Nation Builders Corps(NBC)'.

The initiative which forms part of the government's effort at reducing high youth unemployment in the country, was announced during the 2018 budget presentation by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta on Wednesday 15th November 2017 at Ghana's parliament.

Disclosing details of the initiative, Mr. Ofori Atta said it will focus on training and deploying Ghanaian youths for service in areas including: public health services, education,agriculture, sanitation and several others.

He stated that, "the National Builders Corps programme will employ a total of 100,000 Ghanaian youths in 2018", adding the programme will be operated directly under the office of the Presidency.
