Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana - Ebenezer Asante, has been appointed as (VP) of MTN Group's Vice President in charge of operations in the South, East Africa and Ghana (SEAGHA) Region of the company.

In a statement the mobile telecommunications operator said the new SEAGHA region will aside Ghana consist of MTN operations in Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, South Sudan, Botswana, Swaziland, Namibia and Botswana, and the company's ISPs in Kenya.

Prior to his appointment, Mr Asante served as MTN CEO for barely two years and was last year - 2016 awarded the Marketing Man of the Year by CIMG.

Commenting on the development, MTN Group President and CEO - Rob Shuter, noted that Mr Asante's promotion was well deserved and that that he believes with the new Regional VP's experience both in MTN as well as his 13 years at Unilever as Managing Director Zambia and subsequently - Customer Development Director.

“I am very pleased for Ebenezer; he is a great talent and business leader. His appointment to this new role only speaks to our strong bench strength, but the pool of talent we have within MTN as Ebenezer will bring great value to the Group leadership team. To the benefit of our people and customers across MTN footprint", Mr Shuter said.
