All six remaining victims of last week's helicopter crash will be buried at the Military Cemetery at Tse Addo in Accra after a state funeral service at the Black Star Square today.
At a press briefing in Accra on Thursday, August 14, 2025, Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations at the Office of the President, Mr Stan Dogbe, said the Ghana Armed Forces will conduct the funeral service in three parts: a pre-burial service, the main funeral and burial service, and the interment.
The pre-burial program is set to commence at 7:30 am and conclude at 9:00 am.
The Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is anticipated to arrive at 8:50 am, followed by President John Dramani Mahama at 9:00 a.m. to initiate the state service.
This three-hour ceremony will include the reading of biographies for all eight victims, as well as tributes from their widows, children, government officials, and representatives from various institutions.
After the service, the remains of six victims will be transported to the military cemetery at Tse Addo for burial, with the rites being conducted jointly by the GAF and the respective churches of the deceased.
Mr Dogbe said buses will be provided to transport the six bereaved families to the cemetery to help manage traffic along the route and within the cemetery.
He urged mourners to follow the instructions of military police officers who will be directing movement and parking.
