The decision was taken at an emergency meeting held on Wednesday February 16, 2022.

“Following an emergency meeting of the GACL board held on Wednesday February 16 Mr Yaw Kwakwa submitted his resignation as the Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited effective close of day February 17, 2022,” the board said in a statement dated February 16, 2022 while announcing Pamela Djamson-Tettey as the new Managing Director of the GACL, a portion of the statement read.

It would be recalled that President Akufo-Addo this month terminated the appointment of the Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited Yaw Kwakwa.

The Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah in a letter said the President gave the directive for the termination of his appointment.

Mr. Kwakwa was interacting with the press at the McDan terminal while the Transport Committee of Parliament was inspecting the facility when the news came in.

Reacting to his sack letter,  Kwakwa said has no knowledge of his sacked letter.

"I don't know what you are talking about..." he said.
