UG Legon partners HFC for campus infrastructure development

Management of the University of Ghana, Legon have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with HFC Bank Ghana, aimed at improving the campus infrastructure outlook.

The partnership will involve providing support in the beautification and soft landscaping of the Recreational Quadrangle and J.B. Danquah Avenue of UG Legon campus.

Explaining the details of the partnership between both institutions to the media – Co-Chair of the Green Team Project, Dr. Benjamin D. Ofori noted that it began when the Vice-Chancellor introduced a broad vision of “Greening the University”, in line with the Strategic Plan of the institution.

He said the project will improve the greening of the campus through planting grasses, trees, and a more effective implementation of environmental sanitation activities – particularly, students led good waste disposal practices.

Commenting on the partnership - Acting Managing Director of HFC Bank Limited, Anthony Jordan who signed on behalf of HFC Bank, noted that the beautification project of selected boulevards is in line on the UG campus was part of HFC’s achievement of its 2017 corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives which is ‘creating awareness for a Cleaner Ghana’.

He lauded the University’s Serene Environment and orderliness, reiterated the bank’s commitment to building and nurturing a blossoming relationship with the country’s premier institution of higher learning.
