Unibank and Star Assurance offer ‘BancAssurance’ for client benefit maximization

Unibank, the 2016 best bank in ‘Long Term Loan Finance’ in Ghana has launched a customer centered product to aid customers maximize benefits they receive from the bank. 

The product branded Unibank BancAssurance is joint initiative by Unibank and Star Assurance consisting of nine product classified under two categories, General (Travel Insurance, Motor Insurance, Comprehensive Home Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance) and Family Life (Child Lifeline Plus, Family Protection Plan, Wealth Master Plus, Home Call Plan and Ultimate Protection Plan). 

In an interview with Primenewsghana, Director of E-banking, Product and Marketing OF Unibank Ghana, Clifford Mettle, stated an intense education about the product will be given to customers before they sign up. 

“Anybody who seeks the product, we tell you what is required before we even add you on the product and when there is the need for claims, once you are able to submit what the requested information, immediately you claim is paid.”

According to Clifford Mettle, the Unibank BancAssurance has come to challenge and change the status quo where banks and insurance companies collect premium quickly but act reluctantly in paying claims to customers.

Also speaking to primenewsghana, Chief Distribution Officer of StarLife, Nashiru Iddrisu stated that the distinctiveness of BancAssurance from the others is the speed used in honouring claims and the comfort provided to customers.

Commenting on how expensive the product is for a customer to get on board, he noted “our products are affordable from both Life and the General Insurance product we have, and with as low as thirty Ghana cedi’s (GH₵30.00) you can come on board any of the life insurance policy based on what clients desire.”
