2019 Budget: Government to build ultra modern film production studio

The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta in presenting the 2019 Budget says the Akufo-Addo led government will facilitate the construction of an ultra-modern film production studio to attract the international film community. 

President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey earlier disclosed that the government has released some funds to the creative arts body.

The money, according to the council’s president, is aimed at helping the Creative Arts Council start some of its numerous projects.

The Finance Minister reading the 2019 budget in Parliament said the policy of the government "the Creative Arts Industry Bill is now in Parliament for deliberation and passage into Law. The Creative Arts Fund is incorporated in the Bill to ensure the economic viability of the Creative Arts Sector in the economy"

And in addition, Government in 2019, will pursue the passing of a Legislative Instrument to establish a Secretariat for the National Film Authority" and will also facilitate the construction of an ultra-modern Film Production Studio to attract the international film community."
