Former President Akufo-Addo has paid a glowing tribute to legendary musician Daddy Lumba, describing him as a “pantheon among musical greats of all time” following news of his passing.
In a social media post, Akufo-Addo said: “With regret, I have received the sad news of the passing of my dear friend and renowned music icon, Charles Kwadwo Fosu.
“Daddy Lumba, as we affectionately call him, was a pantheon among musical greats of all time and had a special connection with his fans and the entire nation.

Akufo-Addo extended his condolences to the family and fans of the late icon.

Daddy Lumba passed away at the age of 60 after a short illness, according to an official statement released by the Fosu family on Saturday, 26 July 2025.
Celebrities, well-known political figures, and Ghanaians have since taken to social media to mourn and share fond memories of the legend.
