Daddy Lumba goes home December 6

The late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, will be buried in Kumasi on December 6, 2025.

According to a statement released by his radio station, DL FM, the ceremony will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Daddy Lumba, whose real name was Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital after a brief illness. He was 60 years old.

Since then, prominent personalities, including former and present presidents, have expressed their condolences and grief for the late singer.

The Creative Arts Agency and the Fosu family held a nationwide candlelight vigil at Independence Square as a memorial.

On August 30, 2025, a one-week memorial service was held for the music icon at Independence Square.

Following Akan customs, hundreds of admirers, artistes, dignitaries and relatives gathered to pay their final respects to the late highlife icon during the one-week celebration.

The solemn occasion was attended by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and former Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong.

The event was filled with performances of Daddy Lumba’s timeless hits, including ‘Aben Wo Ha’, ‘Sika Asem’, and ‘Theresa’
