Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has said he does not expect any congratulatory message on his nomination for Best International Act-Africa at the 2017 BET Awards from fellow artiste Shatta Wale

In a response to a question on whether he had received any congratulatory message from Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy simply replied “I don’t need it”.

He was speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s cosmopolitan mix hosted by Doreen Andoh on Tuesday.

Several artistes have urged the public to see Stonebwoy nomination as one for Ghana and vote massively for the only Ghanaian nominee.

The 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, born Livingstone Etse Satekla said he liked Shatta Wale’s Taking Over and Ayoo tracks.

He believes in unity and asked music fans not to create tension or conflict between Ghanaian artistes.

Stonebwoy is of the view more Ghanaians artistes deserve to be nominated, sayin “The way things were going, I felt that if we did get a nomination, I wouldn’t be surprised. But I was only thinking that it was going to be more than one Ghanaian artiste that I was sure about. My instincts were very sure that it was going to be more than one Ghanaian artiste but to our surprise” it wasn’t so.
