Sarkodie real name Michael Owusu Addo has stated that he will continue to be a heavyweight in Ghana’s music industry till he retires.

Speaking to the BBC after an event at the O2 Arena in London, the BET award winner threw a challenge to people who doubt his longevity in the industry.
“Today I want to challenge anybody who is still doubting that it’s going to be Sarkodie in the next 2 or 3 or 4, 5 years, ten, eleven until I choose not to.â€
Sarkodie’s comment comes at a time when there seems to be a grudge between him and some media personalities.

Sarkodie told the BBC that his rise to fame was not by chance but by hard work, “I believe most rappers; because hip-hop is based on ego; turn to fight the fact that people want to push you down and try and make you feel that you can’t be here tomorrow, like you’re hitting for today, this is your time by the next 2 years you [are] not going to make it.
